Letter I receive for reference as a resource

I would refer you to American Cancer Society  at www.cancer.org or 1-800-227-2345 and ask for information on their free wig clinic and Look Good-Feel Better program at their local chapter nearest your area.

EBeauty Inc at www@ebeauty.com or 800-617-8967 is  a non-profit organization that has created an exchange program in which wigs are donated to EBeauty.com and then offered to women who are undergoing Chemo treatments.

  • Good Wishes Scarves at www.GoodWishesScarves.org, 888-778-5998) or (info@GoodWishesScarves.org- choose 3 fabrics and they will send you one that is available – they have a small selection for men
  • Where There’s a Need, Inc. at 1-866-803-6095 or www.wheretheresaneed.org (headwear with hair) – they  need a confirmation from your social worker that you are in financial need of a wig
  • The Beau Beau at 941-362-0250 or www.4women.com – may be able to provide free scarfs (depending on availability) – they are not non-profit.

I would refer you to American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345 or http://www.cancer.org/docroot/home/index.asp to see if they can refer you to any other resources for financial assistance.


I would refer you to Partnership for Prescription Assistance at www.pparx.org or 1-888-4PPANOW (which I believe assists with insured and non-insured patients). 

http://www.211.org/ provides free and confidential information and referral. Call 2-1-1 for help with food, housing, employment, health care, counseling and more.

The  Patient Assistance Link (PAL)  at www.patientassistancelink.org or 866-429-1979 provides a one-stop application process, allowing patients to complete and submit applications online for co-pay assistance medication programs and as well as other services. Patients have access to real-time information about availability of medications, resulting in more accurate and timely processing of requests.

Cancer Care Connection at http://www.cancercareconnection.org/ or 1-866-266-7008 should be able to connect you to resources as well as give you information.



Cancer Financial Assistance Coalition at  www.cancerfac.org is a good resource as well.

Needy Meds at www.needymeds.org which is the best source of information on patient assistance programs.

Script Save at www.scriptsave.com.

Together RX Access at http://www.togetherrxaccess.com/  or -800-444-4106 – for people without insurance their card helps to saves up to 25%-40% off of the prescriptions – most pharmacies participate

Patient Advocate Foundation’s Patient Assistance program at 1-866-512-3861 or www.copays.org provides limited payment assistance for  pharmaceutical products to insured patients who financially and medically qualify

American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or 1-800-227-2345 should be able to provide you with referrals to transportation and other resources in your area.  Certain chapters also have a Road to Recovery program using volunteer drivers – I would suggest you ask them if they have that program in your area.

Certain chapters of Meals on Wheels Association of America at www.mowaa.org or 1-703-548-5558 provide assistance with transportation for medical and dental appointments, as well as their nutritional program.

Beverly Foundation  at www.beverlyfoundation.org or 505-222-0620 - based in Albuquerque NM but appears to have transportation programs throughout the U.S.   I am not quite sure of how this works but call them to check it out.

Bristol Myers Destination Access at 1-800-736-0003 (Option 1) may be able to help with prescription assistance for the uninsured or underinsured.

Cancer Financial Assistance Coalition  at http://www.cancerfac.org/ has a national database for organizations that help with a  specific cancer diagnosis or helps find resources for a specific type of assistance or need.

Chronic Disease Fund at 1-877-968-7233 or www.cdfund.org may also be able to provide you with assistance

Patient Access Network Foundation at 1-866-316-7263 or  https://www.panfoundation.org/fundingapplication/medicationCovered.php  assists patients who cannot access the treatments they need because of out-of-pocket health care costs like deductible, co-payments and co-insurance.

Healthwell Foundation at www.healthwellfoundation.org or 1-800-675-8416 addresses the needs of patients who cannot afford their insurance premiums, co-payments, co-insurance and other out-of-pocket health care costs.  Patient Services Inc. at 1-800-366-7741 or www.uneedpsi.org provides health insurance premium assistance (including COBRA) and co-payment assistance.

I would refer you to Friends of Man at 1-303-798-2342 or applications@friendsofman.org which provides assistance for food, clothing, medical expenses, medical equipment and day care – applications must be submitted by a social worker or health care provider and are determined on a case-to-case basis.


Hill-Burton Free Hospital care at 1-800-638-0742 or www.hhs.gov/ocr/hburton.html is a program run by the US Government that can arrange for certain medical facilities or hospitals to provide free or low-cost care.
